The ISCI Reserve Management Program is an extraordinary and exciting conservation project, at the forefront of numerous species reintroductions and conservation drives. If you want more than just a safari … come and get your hands dirty and learn more about conservation management on a wildlife reserve in South Africa.


Your Conservation Experience

The ISCI Conservation Volunteer Programme is the ultimate wilderness experience where volunteers from across the world get hands-on experience in conservation management on a wildlife reserve.


During your stay with us you will act as “Assistant Conservation Managers” and all the work done and data collected by you will be utilized by the ISCI to drive conservation initiatives on our partner reserves. A dedicated coordinator will endeavour to ensure that you have a wonderful learning experience, leave with a stronger understanding of conservation issues and the knowledge that you made an important contribution.


Volunteers will be provided with stimulating practical experience in the following areas:

Game counts, Sex and age ratios recordings, Alien vegetation control,  habitat management, Bush encroachment control, Soil erosion control, Reserve clean-up operations, Road maintenance, Landscaping around the lodges, Assist anti-poaching unit, Parasite control and many other conservation management activity that might pop-up at the time.


RESERVE MANAGEMENT PROGRAM

TRAINING PERIOD:

Duration: 4 Weeks

Cost: R 33 000:00


VOLUNTEER PLACEMENT:

Duration: Minimum 2 Weeks

Cost: R 15 400:00 per 2 weeks

REQUIREMENTS:

Volunteers must be older than 18 and physically healthy.
